Steven_Prowse_The_ConcertThe Night Witches” – Feature Screenplay Top 3 Winner
by Steven Prowse (Gibraltar, UK)

Screenwriter Bio: Steven Prowse, British, has lived in England, Netherlands, Curacao, USA and Gibraltar. Educated at Cambridge (scholarship), he is CFO by trade and so has a lot of experience of writing fiction. His screenplays have received a combination of over ninety Officially Selections/Wins in the last eighteen months, including two wins to date for this screenplay alone.

Steven is currently steeling himself to becoming a drug user if and when Hollywood beckons. He has already spent the last few years building up his immunity to iocane powder.

The Inspiration: Hollywood is finally wising up to female action movies, and I wanted to write one where women were treated just as men – a movie without romantic subplots. When I discovered this story my jaw dropped. Every woman who knows about this true WW2 story has wanted it on the screen. During the war, these women flew a total of twenty-four thousand sorties into enemy territory with no defenses and no parachutes, and their regiment produced 24 twenty-four Heroes of the Soviet Union, the country’s highest military honor – the average for an air regiment was 2. This is a story that needs to be shared, and these inspirational women honored by the world.

NB: “The Night Witches” is one Steven’s four entries to ReelHeART 2014. He’s been Busy 🙂
