ReelHeART Lunch n Learn sessions are for real film enthusiasts who want the 411 on the ins and outs of filmmaking.
We start you off where it all begins – with a polished script, dramatically (and often comically) read by a talented group of Toronto actors.
Then, we talk about how a films gets to an audience in our no-holds barred insider POVs on Distribution. Many filmmakers actually get distribution deals from our high profile industry panelists.
Our Saturday Lunch n Learn is always a raucous and sometimes heart-wrenching affair, as we get a first hand peek behinds the scenes of filmmaking featuring visiting filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world chatting about how they made their films and what the ideas were for their screenplays.
We urge you to come out and cheer on your favorite writer and script. This year we have our very first International screenwriting winner from Scotland.
A box lunch is included, sponsored by Subway Sandwiches and includes, Sandwich, Drink, Fruit and Homemade Cookie

Tuesday June 21, 2011 [11:00AM-1:30PM] – Live Read of ‘Chomp!’, by George Sanders and Shawn Curran [$12 Single Lunch n Learn]
SYNOPSIS CHOMP!
CHOMP! In this horror/comedy (think “Shaun of the Dead”), two rivaling dental-college coeds (the very popular and gorgeous Brianna—an athletic blonde with a C-average grade point, and the very unpopular, yet brainy and beautiful and bespectacled Drew) must join forces to survive when a genetic experiment using shark DNA to re-grow teeth goes terribly wrong. The ladies and eight of their fellow freshmen (including the class-clown Beau, psycho-hippie Cheyenne, the outspoken Tanya, over-sexed Tyler, the fragile and hysteric Ali, antisocial Matt, football hero Dion, and the kind and gentle Caleb) have been taken to closed mental asylum on a remote lake island to conduct the experiment. The experiment was developed by their professor, Richard (a nerdish bag of hot air) and his fraternal twin brother, David (a handsome, charming, genetic scientist). The twins also bring along their dementia-suffering 70 year-old mother, and are aided by asylum caretakers Ed and Dora, a frightening couple of few words in their 50’s.

SYNOPSIS OVERWHELMING DARKNESS
When a jaded crime reporter, Abel Stark accidentally kills a sleazy child rapist, this propels him on a violent, bloody journey to rid his city of the scumbags, drug dealers and murderers that he has always hated. Hotly pursued by Detective Henry Powell, one of the most hateful and hated cops on the force, Abel can’t help himself from trying to do what he believes to be the right thing, with the (unknowing) help of his best friend, Sam Grant, a good cop and devoted family man. But what will Abel’s Assistant DA fiancée, Cassie Jaeger think when she finds out what he’s done? And what will become of Abel when he goes after one of the top criminals in North America, Caesar, the powerful and vicious leader of a renegade biker gang, and also the cousin of the sleazy child rapist, who was the first person that Abel killed?

The evil land developers are led by the super-rich Tara Boulaise, a ferocious woman who knows no limits. Fred’s other problem? Communication. He’s accidentally had his body switched with a pink flamingo, and he now speaks like a parrot with a lisp and soft ‘R’s”.
